This interesting piece of Flanders lace was worked by Margaret Cook.

 Margaret writes:-
This is a Flanders pattern called Lenten Lily.  It is one of Anne Marie Billiet's patterns (from Bruges).  I worked on it for a year whilst at the same time learning the basics of Binche Lace.  I am always attracted to patterns with unusual edges:  bits "sticking out" or bands of plain cloth in the border that have a variety of twists to make it a bit more interesting.  I posted it to Bruges to have it joined and mounted on linen.
