The pattern for this Honiton mat is in one of Elsie Luxton’s books. After working the flowers and leaves I was left trying to work out what fillings to use.Liz Trebble suggested photocopying the pricking and colouring  in the areas around the flowers to see what the effect would be if the fillings were either all the same or all different.
